Estimating and Project Management
Private Work: Measure areas; submit quote, meet with utility locates; verify and estimate survey/grade; survey with owners and foreman; track costs and invoice work
City Work: bidding process, scheduling with engineers and foreman; meet with utility locates; verify and estimate survey/grade; process sub-estimates; project final
Urban Projects: bidding process; submit schedule to engineers; schedule with foreman; hold weekly construction meetings, process sub estimates; project final
Winter Work: measure stockpiles; materials inventory; year-end reports; check if all miscellaneous work was invoiced and received; check on contracted work pay estimates and sub-estimates; compile carryover work list and dollar volume
- Big and project manage state, county, city, and private projects
- Analysis of publications and perform Internet research on upcoming projects to big in various states
- Monitor competitors (location of competitor projects versus location of Northern's projects)
- Yearly updates on various programs (e.g. patching, paving, and sealing)
- Public Relations / organize various functions
- Assist in billing out private work invoices
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all project-related information
- Regular attendance at the workplace and/or project site is required
- Perform other related duties as required, directed, or as the situation dictates
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to walk on uneven ground, climb, reach, grasp, manipulate objects, and perform keyboarding and data input, use a telephone and/or communication equipment, perform light lifting, kneel, squat, and sit for extended periods of time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Three (3) years minimum Estimating/Project Management experience desired
- Previous experience in asphalt paving, construction activities preferred
Microsoft Excel (advanced experience) and Microsoft Project (some experience preferred but not required)
