Currently seeking individuals with experience operating asphalt paving equipment to fill the positions of Paver Operator and Screed Operator in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ideal paving candidates should have 2 years of road construction experience and current driver’s license that meets state requirements.
Responsibilities of the Asphalt Paving Operators
● Perform daily inspection and maintenance and ensure that paver is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
● Safely operate paver to achieve the specified paving width, depth and grade.
● Perform maintenance and smaller repairs as needed.
● Report to shop when equipment needs additional maintenance and repair.
● Keep equipment clean and prepare equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
● Maintain order, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
● Comply with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
● Follow Supervisor’s instructions closely.
Requirements of the Asphalt Paving Operators
● High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
● Minimum 2 years of road construction experience, preferred
● Current driver’s license that meets state requirements
● Physically able to walk, bend, kneel, lift various objects weighing up to 50 pounds, stretch, sit and work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
● Willing and able to travel and work some Saturdays as needed
